What are fillers?

Are fillers the same as Botox®?

Fillers and Botox are different medications that treat various types of wrinkles. While dermal fillers plump up the skin by adding volume, Botox minimizes the appearance of wrinkles caused by expression. Dr. Greenberg typically places fillers in the lower half of the face and Botox in the upper one-third.

Are there different types of fillers?

Juvéderm®

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid-based filler with a smooth consistency, making it ideal for fine wrinkles in areas that are typically difficult to treat.

Restylane®

Also a hyaluronic acid filler, Restylane has a more granular texture and can effectively treat hollow areas.

I’m getting fillers. What can I expect?

During your initial consultation, Dr. Greenberg listens to your concerns, assesses your skin’s quality, and maps out your treatment areas. Next, he applies a topical numbing cream and administers the filler. Your results are immediately apparent. 

You may experience minor swelling and bruising at the injection sites, but you can expect to resume your normal activities right away.

How long do results from fillers last?

Results from Juvéderm and Restylane typically last for at least 6-12 months. Once your results start to fade, you can return to North Texas Cosmetic Surgery for maintenance treatments.
